Saul And The Light

Saul And The Light

A Poem by Terry Collett

That was that light

that bright almost blinding light

and I lay there

momentarily unable to move

and a voice called out

but only to me it later seemed

an authoritative voice

one to be obey without doubt

and others were there

but they saw nothing

nor heard that voice

just saw me fall to the ground

and speak to myself

and lifted my then blind eyes

upwards towards the bright sun

afterwards they escorted me

to the city and took me to stay

with a man the voice mentioned

in the darkness of my blinded eyes

I could still the voice

could still feel its authority

and how it embraced and filled me.
