BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL.

BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN'S VIEW ON A WOMAN'S BRIGHTNESS AND BEAUTY.

"

All things bright
And beautiful.
O’Brien laughed.

There’s not that
Seems bright about
Her, but the beauty’s

There. Look at the hair,
The eyes, the face,
The breasts, the way

She moves the hips,
The arse, the bag of
Tricks of her, no doubt

She can satisfy the eyes,
Tongue and feelings of
A man, but bright, I see

Nothing of it there. She’s
A degree in Chemistry,
Flynn said, lifting his

Glass of porter, giving
The girl a quick glance.
A degree you say?

Chemistry? O’Brien
Paused. Maybe the
Beauty is tainted by

That fact. I think the
Head hangs heavy to
One side. Flynn shook

His head, sipped his
Pint, and watched as
O’Brien gazed at the

Girl with a look of
Wonder in his eyes
And whispered,

Brightness fades,
Beauty dies.

I love this, you rock a different kind of pace and rhythm in this one and it works. It reads like a couple of paragraphs from a great story...I would like to see it in a story, great conversation between two friends (i am assuming). Opinions about women aside, I loved it.

I do not share O'Brien viewpoint on women but must let him have his say.
