NEW DAWN.

NEW DAWN.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A WOMAN WELCOMES A NEW DAY.

"

New dawn.
Dawn chorus

Of birds outside
The window. She

Pulls back the pink
Curtains with her

Red sticky fingers;
Sees the white roses

In the garden right
Ahead in full bloom,

Not caring though
Seeing, knowing

Behind her in their
Bedroom on their

Double bed, her
Battered bloodied

Husband lies dead.

Fantastic poetic expression.. I love the imagery. This is mighty brevity at its best.
