Where Do I Belong?

Where Do I Belong?

A Poem by Justin Mcculloh
"

This Poem is about some things Ive thought about

"
Dear Lord, am I doing something wrong//
why do I feel like this is where I dont belong//
why my faith isn't headstrong//
and i wake up every mornin feelin like my life ain't gonna last long//
emotional distress I gotta pop a pill//
and sometimes I feel like I have big shoes to fill//
emotional distress is killing me inside//
I want my name to be worldwide//
but it seems like thats not what you prescribed//

Oh my goodness, Justin! I think a lot of people can relate to this, including myself. The only part I couldn't say I relate to is the popping a pill line. I can't take pills, since my throat is different. I swallow differently than others. I end it usually chewing the pill up, if my pain is that severe. Back to your poem, a lot of people feels as if they don't feel like they belong and that everything they're doing is wrong or something. The truth is no one is perfect. We all make mistakes. First, Earth isn't our home. It's our temoprary home while Heaven or Hell is the eternity home. I can agree that my faith with God sometimes tends to slip away without me meaning to. There's too much temptation in the world that it's easy to do that. I try to stray myself from everything that leads me into that side of the world. What I mean is by listening to music that isn't the best and cussing like a sailor for no good reason. I regret doing it all of the time! I wish I could go to church more often if I wasn't so tired from school. That shouldn't be an excuse though. You know what I mean? We all fill as if we have big expectations out of ourselves to fulfill. That's natural to feel that way! God has a big plan for you and he wants you to prepare yourself for whatever obstacle for any reason jumps in your path that you decide to take in the end. Everyone wants their name to be worldwide. For me, I want to be a Journalist that every company would want as one of their workers. Promise me God wants the best for you. He is pointing you in a certain direction for a reason. :) Great job!

Side note: This is the first poem I have read by you before and I'm thoroughly impressed too. I will continue to read your work! You done a fabulous job and you're an excellent writer that's for sure! Keep writing and sharing the beautiful work! :)

When I get to feeling down and out I find it very comforting reading in the Bible...usually in Psalms. This is just me though.
