Falling Forwards

It’s hard to move on, but with the right person, it’s possible

I wanted you to be next to me
Didn’t want to be alone
Wanted someone by my side
Someone who’s there at night

You couldn’t fit that
You got up and left
I’m holding myself
Before I lose control

Now I’m out here
Talking with someone new
Someone who isn’t you
I’m trying to move on

I’m holding her closely under
The blinding Street lights while
The rain is pouring down on us
She’s warming me up, despite the wind

You’re still on my mind
But she’s giving me amnesia
I still feel the pain you left me
But she’s my painkiller

It’s hard to move on and
It’s hard to find someone new
