Empty HumorA Poem by Devil's DaughterPoem, poem, poemEmpty words fall with grace
Humor written, read straight face
Angles drawn to rearrange
Your perception easily changed
Watching this! Read this! A blank page!
No passion, no meaning, not even rage
What do you see? And can you feel?
It’s a simple stone you cannot peel
Redecorate, restructure and change the view
And still the empty words do spew
Add some spice with bigger words
Drag up old history, never heard
Your cents, this sense, something smells
Mute and dull, like broken bells
Scholar, preacher, come and praise
This cup of blood unshed we raise
A-choo? With who? The flu you say!
This has been yet another boring day
I’m hate, you rate, someone’s crushed fate
Catch this, fetch this, you are the bait
I smile, you dial 911 again
No quiet, this riot, the run away pen I know, you know, he’ll blow some day
Just give me time to back away
I wave, you rage, who paged? It’s silent
My exception, your reception, now please be quiet. Your humor, whose tumor? Dissection please!
Reread with care, to your comfort and ease
Drama, karma, it’s all the same
Twist then turn, to play the game
Clipped, slipped, and found the flow
Keep going? Nope ending, ha! You didn’t know? © 2009 Devil's DaughterAuthor's Note
