ReflectionA Poem by Devil's DaughterPoemsWithering words inside my head,
Should I live now or just play dead?
What is it about me that I hate?
All my failed attempts or my cursed fate?
Should I stop this merry-go-round?
They’re all screaming but I can’t hear a sound.
Painted ghosts of my buried past,
A promise of friendships that would not last.
Touch the glass, it will not break,
This mask reflects back all your hate.
Better I try to fake the truth,
Someday walk in sunlight, a normal youth.
Throw your pennies in my pool,
Have any of your wishes ever come true?
Walk, don’t run, he’s waiting there,
The liar who collects hearts with his snare.
Whisper, don’t yell and you’ll be heard,
Written lines will bury his hated words.
Don’t touch me now; I can’t feel you,
I could never love things I could see through.
Go on ahead, but me you’ll meet,
I skipped all the rules with amateur feet. © 2009 Devil's DaughterReviews
