Pained Silence

Pained Silence

A Poem by YoungWriter

Silence.
Silence is all I hear.
No crickets chirping,
I strain my ear..

But silence disappeared..
As for there was a noise..
The quietness was suddenly seared,
It woke the creatures making them poise...

They looked around frantically to find the source..
They all stepped out of their burrows to take a peak
It sounded mortified, scarred, and hoarse
The last thing heard was a shriek..

silence was heard once again..
They all headed home..
The shrieking had come from a wren..
As for they were all stuck inside a dome...

Her young one was taken..
From the tree that they live..
Her shrieking had awaken...
The sleep deprived animals with nothing to give..

It was all taken from them, a long long time ago..
They were placed in a sanctuary...
Now calling it home...
There was not enough room on the obituary...

Many lives were taken from the tree chopping and new place..
They were all crammed together..
Because there was not enough space..
Their species would be stuck in here forever...

It was supposed to be rehabilitation..
But they were never set free...
They were more of an exhibition....
But the humans couldn't see...

They payed for animals to be hospitalized...
But they didn't realize..
It was all a disguise...
Causing the rehabilitation to be despised..

The fund became low...
They all started to die..
As heart beats began to slow,
they all said goodbye...
