A Promis Gave

A Promis Gave

A Poem by Steven Hicks

Horror struck

As ingnorance danced

Thoughts plagued my mind

With danger I romanced

Blinded by eternal dark

I felt the fires of hell

I trailed down the wrong path

Unable to break the spell

I know right from wrong

But temptation still strikes

Deffening me to your song

Encouraging the loss of these fights

But one fact still saves

I can turn back around

Because of a promise gave

Though our faith may falter

And our confidence fade

Jesus will still be there

Brightening the shade

The Shadow On My Shoulder
There is an angel who sits upon my shoulder who goes by the name of Death...
