The Bale Box

The Bale Box

A Poem by Tim Schultz
"

What would you find in your box?

"

A black box?
Okay, I’ll open it.
Just a peek to see
The plastic-wrapped
Surprise on the inside.

Oh how, now!
What is that I see?

No one else shall know.
A secret, a gash on my heart
That I shall cover with
Pitch and tar and bury
Deep down within the ivy
Walls of my garden.

No one suspects as they
Roam my courtyard.

And what I saw
Shall disintegrate
Into the earth.
Weeds shall feed
And worms will
Have their day.

I to sleep with pen and paper. Your poem has a David Lynch ring to it. Twin Peeks thing. Like there was a piece of a person inside. Nice Work
