Until Next Time

A poem about somebody leaving.

And you're off
Seems like only yesterday we met
But now you're flying off to the far reaches of the world
Never to be seen again
I wish you didn't need to go
But this is your life, and I've done my part
I hope you enjoy whatever comes at you
Make the most of everything
If only I could come with you I would
But I'm stuck here
Sitting in memory
Of the times we had
The things we'd done
All the good and the bad
What wonderful times
I'm going to miss them
And I'm going to miss you
Now we've said our last farewells
Until we meet again I said while you departed
An empty hope and nothing more
Goodbye
