Life did not bring me a silken gown

Life did not bring me a silken gown

A Poem by Rubein Geterminah
"

Short poem

"
Nearer child of my hands
Sit with me on this sand
And hear me keenly in this cell
That you live not in hell
When I'm gone
And nothing to correct your wrongs

Life did not bring me a silken gown
On this very ground,
But in discord with fate
I utilized faith
At least you have someone your breed
Advising to overcome distance greed

Life did not bring me a silken gown
In this beauteous town
You desire
O son of my strength, rise to embrace fire
Penetrate the castes of the termites
By exercising much might

Life o son of my tomorrow
Depends on oneself, stand to overcome the sorrows
Of your time
Though not all will be fine,
Rise with the sun
And set with it at evening son

Love makes us to affect those we are connected to positively. And this is what a loving father from experience doing for his teenage son. He's advising him that to be successful means exercising much might by penetrating the walls/ castes of the termites. That one needs to prepare for difficult days ahead though not all will be fine.
