My favourite drug

Love is a mystery that scholars through out the ages have strived to understand and written about it in varying dimensions. The speaker in this poem values love and imperatives the partner to love

You are my favourite drug
My survival depends on a draw
In state of unconsciousness
Or consciousness.
You are my acquired immunity
Though some think in this community
I'm insaned, my nurse-
Administer my bid and monitor my pulse.
Stop not your therapeutic care
On this devotion by what said.
To permit your patient depart so brief,
Is unprofessional; a grief
To bear in this preparatory
In this entire territory,
Safe me administering my pills
In this soothing but harsh life never to get ill.

Author's Note

When two persons are in love,
where in there are outsiders intruding,
the affection seen to die in either or one.
It's only by encouraging can they overcome odds.

To love and be loved in return is a mystery many have not been favoured with.
In this poem as the speaker experiences, he calls on the other to love there spite challenges
