without the judgement of shadows

without the judgement of shadows

A Poem by William James McPhee

my pace is slow, though not
so much as to imply i've
  doubts.

i see the world differently... as
  though every breath is
  an opportunity... instead
  of a caged requirement.

(a reason to live rather than
  a forced raison d'etre.)

from above, the clouds
  match my pace, the
  wind demonstrating its
  approval...

and the sun warms my
  face, casting my shadow
behind me so that i may
  walk away without seeing
  it... without feeling it
  judge me...

(with accusations
  of desertion and failure.)

i do not look back to see
  it... nor the house... nor
the wife who sits upon our
  doorstep crying in her hands.

Aw! Yes isn't this the truth
Let the winds sooth or take away our soul.
But yet winds inside of us can stir feelings of mix in nature.
I like this and the feeling I got when I read it.
A wonderful truthful read.
