Modern Living

Modern Living

A Poem by The Glassface

Impending

Awakening

A soft cry escapes from the metal walls

Where slick and sick creatures dance amongst the lights

Night time escapes away, slinking off to an unknown

Sharks dwell here

Blood smears the horizon

A forgotten shore awaits past the cities

Oceans aren't blue like you'd think them to be

If you've never seen something like the moon I suggest you stay away

Beauty only is beauty once

Then on it becomes redundant

Remember the chameleon

Remember clay

Remember

Soft words dot across the waves

Rafts sheltering weary, tired fools

Ferrying them to the new land

With hope and promise

Dissipate

Appear

Knives have become clicks

Backs have become blogs

The ties that bind choke

Suffocate in apathy against an alien backdrop

Crystal carapace reflect emotion

Love reveres itself as lust

Hatred becomes an angry child

Joy...

I don't seem to see you
