Let It Go

Let It Go

A Poem by The Glassface

Roll on

Ride on

Slide on down

It's a gamble of a show,

Mystery of a town

Swept the seas, digging for gold

Struck up empty

Got nothing

Sell us all

Souls are for cheaters, I'm telling you with an ace

Pool hall

Parlor tricks

Draw for the sky

Hit 'em high

Drop 'em

Let the sleeping dogs lie

Scarlet letter

Marks the past

I gave up that path

When I never took my chance

Look her in the eyes when you out and out cry

Vengeance is terrible

Worthless and strange

War

They said there's an answer

For the path to fear

Seeming resemblance to a gritty clutch of years

Cave leapers

Deep sleepers

Treetop leaders

Screeching,

Gnashing

Furious mute agony

Engorged on damnation

Entreated to rest

Sunday morning

Monday's best

I know you can't hear me, why would they say you can?

I've been better than this

I know I have

There was a time when there wasn't a god

We had to fend for ourselves that time.
