Nicholson's Lounge

Nicholson's Lounge

A Poem by Bradley
"

Ever been at a library or perhaps a study lounge on campus?

"
The Coke machine whines
Rustling papers are fine
Footfalls echo from stairs nearby,
Keyboards clacking
Time keeps stacking
Silence is bought without even asking,
See friendly faces
Smile at three paces, but
To all nearby ears leave no traces,
Coughing comes close
Burping's just gross
But conversation will annoy the most

Author's Note

Bradley
I guess conversation breaks the silence better than any other sound.
