Infinite Value

Infinite Value

A Poem by Bobby Madden
"

Something about death.

"

Where am I going?

Am I even going anywhere?

I just can’t be anywhere for eternity.

But non-existence.

Now that’s something.

Billions of years could pass.

I wouldn’t even know.

No consciousness.

So, no blackness.

Nothing to fear.

It’s gonna come sometime.

I won’t even know I’m gone.

But would I rather know?

I don’t think so.

Maybe I will know.

Maybe I won’t.

But I’m still alive.

And I’ll leave something behind.

So people know I was here.

This is a mortal life.

And I’ll cherish every second.

An infinite life is of finite value.

A finite life is of infinite value.

Aw, your inner mottos. I like the idea of making your mark where ever you go. I think there's a responsibility to that. Making it meaningful but alsotrue to character without offense.
