The Consciousness

The Consciousness

A Poem by Bobby Madden
"

Another fantasy piece.

"

Twilight shines atop the green hills

Through a silhouette of monolithic naked trees

Waterfall mist like diamond dust

From the countless cascades from the crevices abroad

Enshrouds the illustrious columns of stone

That stand adorned in pearls and vines

In mystic silver light from the crescent of the luster void

There are entities born of the cosmic gems

That command the air in flight and stride

With luminescent wings of white

And shining eyes of moonlit waters

They cast their empyrean chants with arms spread wide

From magnificent icy mountain peaks

And ocean pillars that pierce the sky

They soar up through a snowland sea

Far above the valleys of the brave and pure

The crimson daystar firelight

Elegantly dances upon the emerald seas

And the majestic statues of the kings of old

That arise from the fields where the grass is high

In the amber lands where the valorous tread

The legends are told on tongues divine

Of the ever sentient galactic mind

I want to say thank you for this. When people think me crazy for my fascination with the cosmos and my inhabiting the night, this is the eloquent reason why. This is the emotion invoked within me when I gaze up. Thank you for capturing that beautiful world I hold so dear in words I never could.
