Wanting More

Wanting More

A Poem by Death Stalker

Masters give them attention
Masters pet them until they meow to heavens.
Masters play with them by letting them
hunt rats or birds.

But then, one day that came,
where they go limp,
The Masters weep as they bury them.

But the most saddest part
they are not done with getting
attention they love.
So they claw and meow their way
out of the ground.
They walk to their masters'
houses and meow for attention.

With one glance, they scream
at their deformed creatures.
Unaware of what they so desperately want.
They become sad and angry, they hop
at their masters' faces and claw and hiss.
The masters scream and start attacking back.

If this is the only attention they can get,
for their deformed face, mouth hanging on a
piece of skin, half body below the belly rotted away.
They kept attacking, so Masters can give them attention
by attacking back.

Some of them claw out of the ground,
just to claw their way into their masters
little box to sleep with them, some of them...
claw out of the ground to hop in the sewers
to hunt for rats and sometimes they claw out
to hunt for birds.
