The Night Of Three Entries

The Night Of Three Entries

A Poem by The Message

And upon the pier,
that jut from whence I
would chance tonight to die,
there was liquescent fear

And although 'twas mere
that feeling, the lie,
I lurched back awry
from this never known here

In the minute caress of
a withered, blackened dove

The slime would come
oh, that the slime would
enter and plumb
these least understood

A little rocky on meter reads somewhat jerkily when read aloud

Lovely French sonnet indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you for submitting this to Ivor's contest.

Due to lack of entries I have extended this contest in the hopes that more poets will submit. Please spread the word around!

Maybe Dark Angel Storm may wish to enter now! LOL

Excellent entry thanks!

I like music (Listening, playing and composing), reading and boardgames. As to writing, I prefer complex metaphor and Lovecraftian influences... and generally being incoherent, haha. more..
