Paws In Eternal Skies

I wrote this for everyone who's ever lost a furry companion.

In realms where stars elegantly dance,

Where endless echoes of love enhance,

I tread upon celestial shores above,

An eternal bond, an unbreakable love.

Oh, dearest human, keeper of my heart,

From your embrace, I was forced to part.

No words were spoken, none could comprehend,

That this ephemeral life, too fleeting it would end.

In doggone days, a mere pup so small,

I bounded through fields, cherishing our ball.

With wagging tail and soul so pure,

We laughed and played, our spirits sure.

Together we roamed, exploring unknown lands,

Under golden sun, hand in paw, our love expands.

You were my hero, my guiding light,

In your presence, fears took flight.

But alas, the hands of time took hold,

Growing frail, my spirit told.

With a heavy heart, you watched me fade,

As I entered the twilight; my journey forbade.

Now, in these hallowed abodes above,

Where cherished souls find solace and love,

I yearn to see your face, to hear your voice,

Longing for your touch, I have no choice.

Upon clouds of silver, I gaze below,

Witnessing your tears freely flow.

Oh, how they tremble, like autumn leaves,

Embracing the sorrow that never relieves.

Remember me, dear human, with fondness and cheer,

Though my tail no longer wags when you're near.

For in this ethereal haven, I dwell at peace,

Yet the void in your heart, never to cease.

In dreams, we still chase the setting sun,

Where our spirits frolic, forever as one.

But in the realm of mortals, you're left to mourn,

While I, in this canine paradise, am reborn.

So, let not sorrow shroud your soul in gray,

In my paws, I carry your love each day.

And when your time comes, to this realm you soar,

We'll reunite, evermore.

But until that moment, as you gently weep,

Rest assured, my love, in heavenly sleep,

For I am here, an angel in disguise,

Guiding you from afar, under starlit skies.
