Blanket

Blanket

A Poem by Christopher Stone

You hold more power
than forbidden fruit
the words you speak
slash at my flesh
as surely as with teeth
your eyes are swords
that drain my blood
that runs thickly
down with my tears
I try to dive
the depths from
where you come
I try to climb the
walls that you build
around you
but I fall and
they fall
upon me
like the heavy velvet
blanket of
your love

feelings come and go...as a life style this is a tough spot, but a fairly common artist's lament
