Oh, How Times Change

Oh, How Times Change

A Poem by Alex B. H.

Oh, how times change.

The land dimmed down to a dark shade of green.
The sun turned the sky purple, with its light only peeking out with a gleam.
The man sat down in an old wooden chair
Where his father once sat in many years earlier.

Oh, how times change.

He thought about the times they've shared,
And held dear the memories that, he was sure, they both cared for.

He remembered the times when father would teach him about how the world worked,
And when they were separated when daddy had work.

Oh, how times change.

The man had a tear roll down his cheek, and he whispered,
"There was so much more that man could've taught me."

"Father, today is not the same.
It's missing the love of yesterday."

"Father, without you, days light is no different than that of night."

Days light is no different than that of night.

Oh, how times change.

Sad little piece, of a man simply grieving over the loss of his father.
Its well written, full of heart, love and emotion.
Kind of beautiful in a way.

Expressing oneself is probably the most difficult things to do. It takes words that have never been said, and things never done before. Writers and artists create from nothing. I like to think that ev.. more..
