This poem is for my friend Austin, who's helped me immensely through everything ever. You're my best friend. :)

 

Thank you…

 

For being my anchor through the worst times.

For protecting me from emotional crimes.

For defending me when I feel beaten.

For banishing unneeded demons.

For, every day, making me smile

and smacking those in harsh denial.

For listening to all my troubles

when problems of my life seem doubled.

For all your knitting and cuddle nests,

pastimes allowing sweet mental rest.

For many happy memories.

For long-lasting serenity.

For dancing with me, and when we swing,

for when my little body you fling.

For listening to my silliness.

For laughter and much happiness.

For playing music beautifully

and giving hugs that comfort me.

For being the brother I never had.

For our psychic powers that are so rad.

For your smile and our weird sounds

that have made me laugh the whole year round.

I love you, my dear friend, so never

break this loving bond that tethers

me to life and gives me hope;

without you I just could not cope.
