Needlessly

Needlessly

A Poem by TheUnrulyWriter
"

My thoughts on worship are probably controversial....

"

If I were a better man

I’d get down on my knees

I'd beg and pray for mercy

For my countless sinful deeds

I’d travel to the river

Who once called herself my home

I’d tread her waters lightly

So as to bathe within her walls

Oh so needlessly, I’d worship

My idols like the sun

I’d give my eyes to brightness

But that isn’t what He wants

TheUnrulyWriter
As many of you know (or at least assume from my profile picture). I consider Lord Shiva to be my god. However, I don't believe in him or worship him in the traditional sense. I believe that he is not a physical being, but rather the universe itself and a model for human beings. I also consider living a lifestyle that aligns with the image of Shiva to be my personal style of worship. Anyway, I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts on this piece as it is very opinion-oriented!! :)
