Dandelion

Dandelion

A Poem by Alexa Aiden

Maybe an open window
Maybe a lit up sky
Can take me back to you,
where I should be tonight
This is not an illusion
It could not be a dream
You're standing right here in front of me.

Oh, distance
You're just an acquaintance
I don't know you well enough
to make conversation
But I don't want to know you
No, I don't want to see what you could mean to me

Past change, past judgment
Past gloomy days, past pain
Too far from depression to touch it again

You're holding me,
we're dancing
Fearless with the hour
Fulfilling beyond our desires

Just to speak to you
Is good enough for me
To share the moon with you
The fields, the air
I found a smile that won't fade
I built a world with you
