SOFT OR HARD

SOFT OR HARD

A Poem by DIVYA
"

Tongue in cheek ;(

"

Soft or Hard…

In all its varied forms

stimulating me to a

fluid kind of passion

infallible, implacable

its silken smooth

yet oh so rough expanse

pulling me, urging me

to color, to imprint

every solid, unyielding inch

with the wildest

deepest stirrings in me

Plain paper…

Ohhhh! What a poetic tease!

Very alluring and clever this one! Definitely had this reader mentally picturing something completely different! ;) For the true writer, even in this technological age, there is nothing more attractive than the crisp, svelte angles of a fresh piece of paper, just waiting to be covered on every inch with the words of the artists desire.

You had me fooled with this poem right down to those concluding words. May your ink never fade on the paper of your dreams. A wonderfully imaginative and clever piece, petal. Well Done.

Actually, I like the anti-climatic end. To me, this symbolizes something we all go through when we're creating a great piece. Our thoughts tend to run in different directions just like our pens and pencils, but that's cool. You'll cover every part of that paper in your time. :)

Poems with twists don’t always come to me so this one was special. Thank you for appreciating this.. read more
Heh, you got me. Good job. I honestly thought this was about sex. I'm actually kind of glad it isn't. People are WAY too focused on that these days. You know? So focused that they do nasty things with each other. I'll probably be a volcel for life. Most definitely.

Ha-hah!
Divya, you had me scooted-up to the edge of my seat in anticipation of the impending pinnacle … what a poetic tease, and you knew all along you were baiting us. You caught me completely off guard. : )
Very creatively done, with great imagery and alluring metaphors.

It worked perfectly; I'm still dizzy … LOL!
Thanks for the Saturday morning giggle! ⁓ Richard 🍃

You are welcome dear Divya.
Passionate and expansive, the wilds of pen (or pencil, printer ink) to paper.
Writers (such as myself) are often tempted, as if by the beautiful woman/man we cannot have,
to points where the imagination is the thrill, the journey is the kill, and when the hunt ends
off we go...in search of the next great beast. Because there's no satisfaction contentment.
As usual, I loved every unyielding...letter.

Gee
I was expecting a poem about boiled eggs :)) my own preference, soft boiled, with toast cut into fingers, these lightly salted and then dipped into the welcoming yellow pool of uncuousness( if that is spelled correctly I'll be most surprised )
Good morning Divya
