SOME PEOPLE THAT I MET

SOME PEOPLE THAT I MET

A woman threatened to leave town, everyday

and when she finally reached the gate

none raised a brow or asked her to stay

a witch was loved by each ’n everyone

for she never let the world in on

how much she hated each soul under the sun

There was a man who often smiled ’n said

he didn’t mind at all, when he really did

and it gnawed his insides, leaving him dead

An  ice-maiden was such a little hussy

ignited hearts, inspite of her frosty words

for she had an incinerator for a p***y

a man gingerly watched each word ‘n line

yet burst out one day, at an ill-chosen time

his pent-up rage breached all sacred confines

A so-called sweet ‘n bashful virgin did

unholy, unspeakable things with her tongue

yet clueless men did for her chastity bid

a woman as a kid, just went haywire

for it killed her to be so ugly and plain

she died and grew up, a beautiful vampire

A sunny and suave gentleman, so fine

squatted in my courtyard for years

yet all it got him was blocked intestines

a woman feared she was going to be dumped

yet when her turn came at last

she was so thrilled, she squealed ‘n she jumped

Another snarky and sneaky write from someone in a very witty frame of mind....too witty even!

True or imagined, its not hard for each reader to peruse these tercets and try and find themselves in it or relate them to people they know. If indeed this poem is based on reality I am pretty sure I am not the ice maiden with the incinerating vagina!

I enjoyed the use of the tercet style; its very suitable for an easy rhyming piece of poetic wit, and the colour and fonts just add to the wicked sense of fun.

Well done on maintaining the witty rage. You have a very good teacher.

beautiful vampires and incinerators....people often suppress who they are for almost a lifetime...and unfortunately either cut that lifetime short....or waste it never being themselves...

Yep, the lesson learned here, take life as it comes along and be grateful for each day and what we have, there’s always someone worse off than ourselves....

A fine flowing poem that makes the reader think and ponder, a very sagely? poetic philosopher you sure are my gifted friend 🌺

Wow DIVYA what sharp claws you have this morning. A thoroughly entertaining read. I find myself wondering whether these little delights are fiction or non fiction :) You have me smiling wickedly and pondering on a few specimens that I know. Smiling even broader now. My your pen is sharper than sharp and so witty with it today. Loved it.

sharp irony and sarcasm Divya ... and haven't we all met at least one or two of these unhappy, deceptive, and dangerous crew ... we aren't always what we seem eh!? especially in the Net ... i confess my biggest chuckle is the " ... incinerator ..p***y" ...and that from such icy put off positioning :) the contrasts are strong .... if we have had a pretty decent life we let our animal go to sleep .. i think it is a mistake ... it really is a jungle out there ... saber toothed tigers still are hunting .. how often we read "...he was such a quiet and nice person" ... or "...we can't believe such sweet woman could do such a thing" ... your poem is much lighter than that ... and fun to peg some of the veils we all wear ... i will be thinking bout this one today luv! peace and joy

Each set of lines. Mini stories dear Divya. I could write a epic tale from each. When I was free from life burden. I roamed and I listen to the strangers songs. I enjoyed the poem and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Always my pleasure to read your work dear Divya and you are welcome.
DIVYA, you certainly have some interesting acquaintances. A colorful lot, indeed, the unifying theme seeming to be that their inner selves were much different than the outer picture they presented to the world. The guy who squatted in your courtyard could definitely have profited from a high fiber diet. I also hope the man whose pent-up rage exploded didn't own an AR-15. The one that I found most interesting, though, was the chick with the incinerator p***y. I always wanted to meet such a woman but never did. Probably for the best, though. There are many ways to get burned, but that is the least pleasant of all.
