Rumplestiltskin.

Rumplestiltskin.

A Poem by L.E.Osborne

1.       Give me a name

And I’ll tell you a fable.

I’ll grant you a wish,

I’ll give you a label.

2.       A fairy-tale ending

That’s all that you ask.

So I’ll gift you a night,

All your dreams are my task.

3.       I’ll draw up a contract,

You’ll sign on the line.

So don you a smile,

Cos it’s your night to shine.

4.       Now listen up closely,

For there is a cost.

So long as you pay me,

All is not lost.

5.       You wish for a carriage,

A dress and a prince.

What more need I say,

You’re not hard to convince.

6.       If all things go well,

And you catch you a fella.

The only words from his lips,

Will be ‘sweet Cinderella’

7.       Now you live in a castle,

With your name up in lights.

You’ve gone from dreary days,

To magnificent nights.

8.       You have tears in your eyes,

But there’s no need to thank me.

If I get what I’m promised,

You can finally go free.

9.       Word on the street is,

You’ve been blessed by the stalk.

So open up Cinders,

Let us sit down and talk.

10.   When I show you the contract,

You signed long ago.

There is fear in your heart,

That your eyes surely show.

11.   I’m here for the child,

You gave me by name.

I don’t care she’s your first,

My cold heart knows no shame.

12.   I told you by 12,

All your dreams would dishevel.

Still you signed on the line,

Don’t make deals with the devil.
