.

.

Who are you

To judge or question?

Daydreams of gluttonous riches

And hallucinations of grandeur

Leave judges lusting for heaven

While darkened souls pray

On haughty hearts

Tainting the spirits of men

Hypocrites of a holy measure

Asking others to bear their crosses

This a load they dare not tarry

While preaching misconstrued truths

And holding bibles in their hands

Only burdening the souls of man

 A cheek unturned

To the faults of mankind

Tells the devil's tale

A story of sin

Unrealized by humanity

Is the true essence of hell

Freewill is the right to choose

So desire wisely!

Man..oh Man....You collected superb thoughts on this one.
I makes me think of how people pray for Holiness, but how
to do so..they would have to surrender free will. Yet, they
still insist that Holiness could be bestowed apon them...when
it has to be a conscious decision to adopt a lifestyle.
Great work here!

That closing is perfection! Wonderful wordcrafting illustrating the folly of those living in glass houses. Excellent work, definitely one of my favorites in your portfolio.

Preach, brother!

These words should be shouted from the rooftops of Earth's citadels.
Excellent weaving of religious iconography and satire.
I love the picture too.

Desire wisely....lol. That is the crux of the problem many times isn't it. This was a philosophical masterpiece like usual. I love the juxtapositions you point out in your writing and the humility with which you point them out. Great job.

Great work Tommy! It seems an unforgivable theme throughout time that those who preach the loudest are at times the most likely to have sinned and the least likely to confess it.

Did this music inspire this piece I wonder? Very well done.
