"Fickle the Riddle is..."

"Fickle the Riddle is..."

A Poem by Tommy
"

Another old one...

"

Trapped in the limbo of High and low;

a battle of Up and down...

My life is a rollercoaster of morality;

a test of mortality...

temptation sometimes sees the Light,

led by the darkness of this life...

A never ending battle from within;

Good or evil who will win?

Who will I be?

Which will I succumb to, the One or the other?

Only time can tell this story of Heaven and hell...

Good or evil who will win? is a great attention capturing line. We all struggle with "inner demons" Not one of us on this earth is perfect and we will constantly battle between right and wrong with the choices we face in life. It is when we no longer say good or evil who will win that we have a problem. Creative and unique.

The strategic use of syllables here is just a workshop. You have given us a superb example of how to structure our lines for dramatic effect. Doubled with your philosophical thoughts and bold imagery...It is a marvelous piece.

The eternal battle defined and described, that's for sure. Nice work.

I liked this poem..I liked how it has a tick tock sort of beat to it and so the rhythm in of itself is parallel to the meaning of the poem of the constant back and forth duality in life. good job

We all house two wolves within, one light, one dark. the one that wins is the one you choose to feed. wonderful wordcrafting! :o)

I like this Tommy, its a good subject, and the idea of it being in the Limbo of high and low fits well. I dont know about anyone else but the harder I try to be good...the worst I behave! I just try to lighten up and stay balanced...which is difficult for me as I tend to live in extremes. Thanks.

"Who will I be?"

well, to someone with bipolar, that speaks volumes. its hard to maintain identity with all the wild swings, to be the person you want to be despite moods that truly are not my own, that come from nowhere. anyway, i enjoyed the write, thanks for sharing it.

the internal struggle well expressed~detailed intently in poetic form~I've always strived to achieve a balance between the two~ =)~

I look at both ends like a volume line on the computer...they are on he same line with each other and the little slider can be placed at will anywhere along the line. But in the end it is all just volume....thought provoking and awesome writing...you da man!

You're a strong guy you'll find your balance in the middle striving forwards as a guiding light and strong moral compass. Great poem, I'm sure it speaks to many people.
