Battle Cries

Battle Cries

A Poem by ThreeMidnights

I'm always known to walk alone
But am I really strong?
When wars arise I will lead
But who will come along?

When I die who will cry?
Sing my victory here and there
Who will despair over me?
Who will even care?

I've been known for my brains
Devotion to the books
Tell me now what all this gains
In a world of fun and looks

This war is not for attention
Yet that's why the lone soldiers sing
I am one who knows affliction
Yet never heard of such a thing

I like this poem a lot. It tells a strong truth in a few stanzas. Great work!
