All the Same

All the Same

A Poem by Crifa

Done, defeated, and down on one knee,
Speak your last, you make your plea.
No honorable fight, no cowardly flight.
No Seppuku bringing you into the light.
Heart racing denying this death,
Savoring what might be your very last breath.

Not a hero, not a God,
Only human filled with flaw.
Sweat drips, goosebumps rise,
Feeling frightened you might die.
A deserted mind and shaking hands,
Fingers together bowing in sand.

Water is falling, ever so slowly,
A weeping waterfall continuously flowing.
Grab my hand and hold it tight,
End it now it serves me right.

My time has come, my time to go,
Before I die you must know,
Pride and envy are the root of hate,
We are all human no matter our fate.
Same body, same souls, same wonderful love,
Enlighten yourself for the heaven above.
