A True Friend!

A True Friend!

A Poem by Tiffani Real
"

A poem about true friendship.

"

Forever is not enough time to enjoy our friendship, or gain the knowledge I have yet to receive from you.

You are a jewel.
Precious in its own right.

Your encouragement lifts my esteem, which at times has been very, very low.
You see things in me that I refuse to see in myself and when you force me to the light, I blush and my face glows.

You are my friend, my brother, my pastor, my blood that flows through my veins.

You already see my success, never having shared a meal, or seen expressions on my face.

We are two kindred spirits, wanting the same for our people, needing the same things for our world.

I thank you for helping me grow into a woman, while keeping the innocence of a girl.

...
... it undoubtedly is a beautiful verse about true friendship ... simple and elegant ... honest and earnest ... this verse starts amazingly well ... with ... "forever is not enough time to enjoy our friendship, or gain the knowledge that i have yet to receive from you" ... this is just so soulfully true ... and then these words of acknowledgement for a true friend are simply wonderful ... "you are a jewel" ... "precious in its own right" ... the respect for the uniqueness of a friend expressed with such grace ... the phrases ... "encouragement lifts my esteem" ... and ... "my face glows" ... highlight the intrinsic character of the effect of a true friend very well ... and there is such intense emotional expression in ... "you are ... my blood that flows through my veins" ... for true friendship is about being connected intensely ... and then this last line ... which is about acknowledging affection and respect ... "i thank you for helping me grow into a woman, while keeping the innocence of a girl" ... is rendered with such gratitude and faith that it reinforces one's faith in true friendship ... what's also truly remarkable about this verse is that ... it makes one sit up and also take note of those relationships in our lives that seem to be true friendships but are not ... because by defining what true friendship is about ... this verse also clearly defines what it shouldn't be about ... by implication ... a beautiful write ... that makes one acknowledge one's true friends and recognize those who are not true friends ... a 100 for this write as it enlightens as much as it enriches ...
