too far

too far

A Poem by TigerLillie

A deep gaze
into desire clouded eyes,

A shy smile
and a bite of the lip;
the mouth runs dry.

Leaning forward,
nose to nose--
anticipation too much to bear...

Lips touch gently,
feeling like new,
yet spanning years--
coming back,
revisiting the past.

A deeper kiss
and tongues entwine,
dancing together,
forcing a gasp...
a muffled sigh...
a yearning moan.

“I’ll stop this before
it goes too far...”
an empty promise
both of us knows
is impossible to keep.

Our embrace grows tighter,
straining toward each other,
pulling closer,
melting together.

Minutes fly by
yet time stands still--
our passion,
growing to a boil,
threatens
to spill over.

“We shouldn’t be doing this...”
uttered as a chorus--
yet we are powerless
to stop.

The thresh hold is reached:
he trembles above me;
another deep gaze,
another bite of the lip.

Arching backs,
swimming heads...
a slow entrance,
pleasured sighs,
and we’ve gone too far.

A steady build,
racing to the finish;
fulfilled cries,
then looks of shock:
“What have we done?”

Wisps of smoke
curl in the air
calmly explaining,
rationalizing.

Cooly we speak--
nothing happened.
“I can keep a secret...”
“Can you?”

A final embrace
hard kiss on the mouth
and I am gone.
