The Endless Path.

The Endless Path.

A Poem by TimothyHollinghead
"

This poem represents what people face during depression and that as long as you can hold out light, or good things, will always come.

"
We have walked on that empty path.
Felt the darkness crawl in.
Nothing around you,
just ash from the fallen words,
that burned your heart,
that burned your soul.

We have dreamed the blackest nights,
and hoped for the brightest days.
The emptiness stares at you,
piercing into your soul.
It tempts you closer,
"Soon it will end, all will end."

We all make it to the end,
through the light at the end of the tunnel,
or by the shear strength of your heart.
Though it may seem it will never end,
that the darkness takes your soul,
the light will never leave you for long.

Wow... great poem, doesn't over-simply complex matters but even this poem, gives people with depression light, a chance of hope that they will make it. The last line is the best; "the light will never leave you for long."
Great poem, it even helps me (I had depression) on my bleak days. Described parts of depression perfectly, people are even able to relate to the start, and the end.
Also love "Soon it will end, all will end." as you have changed the next stanza not to death, as in the overall ending of life BECAUSE of depression, but the depression itself will end, and happier days will be on its way. Clever, loved this!
