The Sun

The Sun

A Poem by Timothy Rawlings

The Sun with it's life giving rays

Shines down upon my choclate brown face.

Already in existence for billions of years

It feeds the plants

that feeds the animals

that feeds the imagination in all our souls.

Look at it for too long and all the world goes dark

Yet to not look when it sets

And sends the colors of the rainbow streaking across the sky

Would be just as big a crime.

Nothing in life is as reliable as it's cycle.

Always there for you when you wake

Always there to brighten even the darkest of your days

The Sun

If only more things in this life could be as beautiful.

I like this. There is a plethera of poetry in this world about the sun, but this one's great. One thing I don't get is the line: "Nothing in life is a reliable is the cycle of it's life". I THINK you meant to type: "Nothing in life is as reliable as the cycle of its life". Idk for sure though. I've been known to read things wrong. :P Very nice, regardless. Great work.
