Like it's ready to pounce-- kinda eerie. I'd like to offer briefly how this senryu made feel-- like a person who has been dormant then something happens where they feel awake and then they are feeling ready to do some serious buisness on the town and it's coming soon you know like the horizen is the near future-- and like the name of the town "Portland" is going to do just that be an import town for some major stuff. So you got this person plotting looking at the city. You know with all the power of a volcanoe inside of them. You know like feeling really alive and awake. Just thought I'd share how the poem moved me. Excellent use of the senryu form.

Short but to the point, a this type of poetry should be. It has a feeling of ominousness, looming, which is very well portrayed in a few short words. The sounds are quite harsh and discordant, like the rumble of distant trouble.... excellent.

A powerful combination of words and photo. The volcano image reinforces the meanings found in this poem...I feel the past, present and future in these few words.
