Epiphany

Epiphany

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

"To all who share words know that some are the key to setting another human being's mind free."

"
Free once more!
The fog has gone -
I see now that
She was never 'The One'

And I see myself
as I was before
- before I ever set foot
through her door

My shackles deleted
vision has cleared
I can't explain how
well I can but it's weird...

Like lightning - a bolt
Words written by YOU
in an insightful and
carefully worded review

so thanks to the writer
Who showed me the way
- To live without her
in my head everyday

You helped me see
That love can be blind
Sure the fetters I carried
were all in my mind

To all who share words
know that some are the key
To setting another
human being's mind free.

there is power in words and we must choose them carefully. they plant seeds inside of people and trigger emotions. never know when they will touch us and in what ways. 'the truth sets us free'. you come to acceptance of a love not meant to be by words shared.

Hi
"I can't explain how
well I can but it's weird..."

I like this part. When one finds the in between emotions and also expresses clearly the overall sentiment it is nice, like catching a glimpse of something you have passed by a bunch of times, but never caught, or fully noticed.

Love is all about being and setting free. So if you find yourself free and not bound in overwhelming emotions, may be she is "the one"...I am not trying to contradict anything in your poem but just my thought lol... beautifully written and smooth flow.

This is not a end of poem; this is an end of love song. It has melody, rhymn, and language that takes the reader into the protagonist's world. Excellent.

I love that this 'sang' to you Ken. As a lyric-aficionado I appreciate that sentiment very much.

Beautiful . Yes every thing is a life lesson
Isn't that a profoundly comforting thought?
Many of us are familiar with certain writers the perusal of whose work often "sets our minds right."

Love the simplicity here, as well as the erratic breaks in meter. It speaks of a freshly renewed man still trembling from what bound him.
