I Miss You

I miss you.

I know I just saw you,

But I’m not talking about that you.

I miss the old you-

The you that used to let the

Words “I love you” flow from

Her lips with ease.

I miss the you

That used to give me

Tantalizing kisses that

Made my toes curl

And my heart stutter.

I miss the you that used to leave hickies

On my neck,

Scratches on my back,

And wet spots in my bed.

I miss the you that

Used to listen to me-

I mean really listen to me

As if what I had to say

Was more important than

Any television show that

Was currently on.

I miss the you that used to laugh,

Smile and

Warm my heart with

A simple glance.

I miss the you that used to stay up all night with me,

Contemplating the origins of the world

And the future of our love.

To put it simple,

I miss the you that used to love me

And wasn’t afraid to say

Or show it.

I miss you.

Been there. This poem evokes a universal theme that anyone can relate to. Very soulful.

This is very sweet. I know that feeling of longing for a lost love or contemplating the loss of a current love. Some times people just become a part of you and they forever linger deep under your skin. There is nothing that can be done about it. I think that you have accurately describe that aspect of life. Really nice.
I'm not even going to comment on these lines, but the are my favorite.

Sometime words cannot capture one's reaction and sometimes it is better left unsaid. I like these lines and because I'm a lady I'll only say, mmm. :)

Oh this was such a sad piece and I think we have all been there sometime or another in our lives. People change, sometimes for the better however people's change can be so drastic that it can tear those around them apart.
You did a great job at describing the aftermath and emotions which comes with such a change. Love can be difficult at times however when the one you love, grows cold so does the heart of the person who is left with picking up the pieces.
