I want to Be

I want to be a writer

One you will never soon forget

The kind that brings a story to life

Leaves you waiting for more

Using just a few words

I want to paint a picture as clear as day

I want the smells to lift from the page

I want you to feel as if you where there

I want to be the kind of writer to adore!

Author's Note

Since I learned how to read, and I'm not even sure when I did I was to young I have wanted to write. I still do, though I have never been able to go far in a story. I'm on here because i would like to improve my writing skills... and maybe one day write that story I have been trying at :) Please comment. Thank You.

The thing about writing is it can be a lifetime occupation. I'm pushing 60 and have been at it seriously for 20 years though I always was a writer. The only thing I can say is, keep at it, ineviatbly you'll get better. Finding what to write about is actually the hardest task.

This is certainly something I can relate to. Most people on this community wish to improve their writing, to strike the right notes in the brains of readers, to learn something, and just to express, in the un-vaguest way possible. And I have really sort of evolved from my previous writing, like, if I try to differentiate between my earlier writings and my present ones, I do see differences, and I can feel my writing has matured, and its mostly inspiration, and my renewal of interest in this field. This poem simply emanates truth, and I love the simple words you used to be direct and put down whatever's on your mind.
