Reality Check

Reality Check

A Poem by †Tracey†

Trumpets sound in the Kingdom
declarations have been made
listen, head the advice of the many

Dreams do not exist
exiled and banished from
written word or scroll
Fairy tales spun
in the night as a Mother
reads to her child
for her to have a dream
a life beyond the pain
of her own
Even if it's only one page
let it be known to her
dream in the breath
of love
Actual reality check...
The dream is the world outside
my door

The dream may be the stranger
touching my hand in hello
as I pull away
The smile you received by the
handsome onlooker while reading
at the local library or at the coffee shop
Possibly the man with a smile on
his face as he watched you in silence
while you danced uninhibited by
societies confines and rules
Maybe the reality is love is not a fairy tale
to be told...
In truth
it's to be held in the light of day
in the darkest of nights
with arms wrapped around you
with kisses given made up of your
own passion guide
Love and the making of not
a's a reality of two.
Needs, wants, desires being fulfilled
So no more dreaming
no more wishing upon a star so
Tomorrow I will pay attention
to the reality...
and be numb once more
in the Kingdom of sleeping

Dreams are like any other living thing. They need nurturing and when they feel wanted and appreciated, they grow in power and thrive.
Care for the good ones and do not be afraid to see where they lead. Love and peace. <3 xx

Enjoyed the blend of fact, fiction and reality with a slap to the reader to remind them where they actually are.
