Paintings on the Wall

Paintings on the Wall

A Poem by Travis Prino

You see the picture in colors

but I see only black and white

you were the only one who really knew me

but I'm in the dark again tonight

and these paintings they can tell a story

of the life that you never knew

what happened to such an innocent boy?

a past I wish I shared with you

paintings on the wall

they can tell it all

leaving you with broken chains

paintings on the wall

they will tell it all

binding you to my remains

you see my face through a filter

that I wear to hide my scars

you always thought that you really knew me

you got so close but slipped so very far

and you only see what I will show

cause this mirror shelters me from you

an image that seems so immaculate

covering with lies all of the truth

paintings on the wall

they can tell it all

leaving you with broken chains

paintings on the wall

they will tell it all

binding you to my remains

how long will it be

till you see

the real side of me?

how long will it be

till you see

the real side of me?

not time enough

not time enough

paintings on the wall

they can tell it all

leaving you with broken chains

paintings on the wall

they will tell it all

binding you to my remains

paintings on the wall

they can tell it all

leaving you with broken chains

paintings on the wall

they will tell it all

binding you to my remains

and these paintings they can tell a story.

Just a little caveat to my writing, 95% of what I write are lyrics so excuse the length and repetition and don't be deterred by that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment. more..
