It's my unhappy ending to happy things

it's this terrible nightmare that darkness brings

it's over the rainbow but buried under dirt

it's a photograph finish with stains on your shirt

it's the breaking of a window with glass on the floor

it's putting back the barriers that were there before

it's everything I want to be, all the stupid things I said

it's staring into nothing with dreams in your eyes

it's that sudden upset stomach when you finally realize

it's feeling so helpless, it's feeling so numb

it's the end of our beginning that never did come

it's my unhappy ending to happy things

it's me broken hearted as you spread your wings

and fly into the sun

please wake me so it can all be undone.
