Alice Cross

Alice Cross

A Poem by Beth Shade
"

Description of one of my favored characters in a poetry format.

"
I held your hand through sickness.
 You put me through Hell.
When I turned and faced you,
You threw me in a Cell.
 You coated me in misery,
You filled my head with Malice.
And when the lights came on.
You screamed your name was Alice.

There was vengeance in your walk,
 Blood dripped down your face.
 When people looked your way,
They were frozen by your gaze.
No one ever knew your story,
Since you built your life alone.
 But regardless of your attitude,
 I am yours alone.

 Despite your criticism,
 Your anger and your eyes.
 Despite your poetic insults,
 And my closing demise.
I see through your frozen act,
 I see through your tears.
 Deep down inside,
 All you know is fear.
