Daydream

Daydream

A Poem by Dante Thomas

The clouds seem to cry
As I look across the blackened sky.
I hear the lightning and thunder play in harmony like a marching band
The sound is deafening from where I stand.

A ray of light shines through the blackened clouds
But is quickly covered with a misty shroud
Rain starts falling like blood from open wounds
In the distance a tempest looms

I am stuck at home on this rainy day
I wish there was more to say
Except
The thunder and clouds in my head will not go away

Wow...
I really like the final stanza because it sums up the meaning of them peom into a short space. Very effective.

Delightful poem. The first line is a real catcher. It gives the reader a sudden and gripping image. I adored your use of the phrase "falling like blood from broken wounds." it makes one imagine the pain and fear that thunder can inspire.

I really like it because you explained in this poem how I felt in those moments, when I was 16 myself. Good job:)
