The Bicycle Ship

The Bicycle Ship

A Poem by Trestababy

Hoist the wheels

And splice the pedal main brace.

Sail into port, bicycle ship

With your captain in the saddle.

Clip your rudder

And steer yourself straight home.

Then stay awhile, bicycle ship

Put your gears in neutral.

Swap your cables for rubber

And fill them with air.

Cycle away and be free

With oceans beneath your chains.
