Autumnal Winters

Autumnal Winters

A Poem by TrimarcoRansome
"

Today it rained, poured down, while I tended my garden and animals. It was so refreshing to feel the rain on my skin it inspired me to write about the seasons in relation to life and death.

"

Thor's mysteries haunt darkened skies,

Lightning raptures in ambrosial highs,

Fronds spore into new life's glory,

Proudly preserving last years story,

Oaks mighty golden umber hues,

Where webs dance across lucent dews.

Inseminating planet's riches,

Coursing streams Dryad's stitches,

Resting her seed until flesh anew,

Flora she sleeps beneath earthy pews,

Peaceful swaddled beneath the soil,

Nature hibernates from her summer toil.

Winter's chastity bitterly bites,

Shadows cast long cold Autumn nights,

Dead wood flames lit dancing fires,

Winds howl across ghostly mires,

Flakes fall muted upon solid ground,

No movement nor sight or sound

The earth she slumbers dreaming deeply

Laying in wait so meekly

Rains patter amongst damp woody glades

Nursing nurturing viridian shades

Underneath the great timber bowers

Spring will sing welcome showers

My Dear Writing Friend,
I sit before my fire, hot coffee as black as my heart in hand. My pipe fills my nose with the essence of peach, yet with all this repose your creative write hurdles my pneuma to a place some where in the creation. I suddenly find myself standing in a forest of ancient oak trees, I hear, feel, and smell the enchanted scene you have painted in my spirit, very well done, very cleverly written.

Blessings, Bill Laughing-Bear

There is a lot more than meets the eye here. Perhaps in the same way that Autumn is there are plural ideas aplenty below this surface of leaves.

What a beautiful poem, Helen! Sturdy, vibrant strokes and yet crafted with a delicate touch so that it might be read in sonorous fashion to the accompaniment of soft harp before a warm hearth's glow.
