Dear Mom.... (Sarita)

Dear Mom.... (Sarita)

A Poem by Trina Lee

When it's done raining
Please rearrange the stars.
Allow me to connect the dots
Show me where you are.
Ask God to bring the moon closer
So it can light up my nights.
My heart has been filled with darkness
From the battles I fight.

I feel so guilty
because I didn't check in.
I was never around
I was too busy tryna win.
I lost sight of what was important
I lost count of my sins.
I added too my workload
I subtracted my friends.

I didn't know you was hurting.
I was blind to the signs.
I wanted to build you a better life.
I thought i had time.
Time to say I love you.
Time to make you proud.
Time to show you that a rose could grow from concrete.
Show you that the world could be mine.

So when God called you home
I didn't understand why
I needed you to stay longer
I wasn't ready to say goodbye.

So I write this poem to tell you
That you inspire me in every way
Even though God called you home
In my heart you will always stay ❤️

Lovely...so beautifully expressed. A wonderful dediction to your mom. She'll probably be smiling.
